STOOL

Took my drafting stool down to Mason Bay the other day. Its the same height as the dinette seats , so thats one extra for dinner.
havge anew client coming today to talk about a new 12m fast cruising yacht, so may have to bring the stool back!
Still on schedule for departure next wednesday on Mason Bay. So posts may be a bit erratic for a few months....

Zaffarancho 2012

I am a bit soft in the head this morning!
The Whangarei Table of the international fraternity The Brothers of the Coast had its annual knees up called a Zaffarancho.
We had 2 Brothers from the Normandy Table, and of course we had to put them thru the stocks- all in good fun of course.
A new Captain was elected, taking over from yours truely...
Great fun....

Great time.

BITS "N PIECES SHELF

You know all those necessary things that just scull about!
Also the 2 hand-held VHF's when one goes ashore as we only have one dinghy at present. Next year will build the main rowing dinghy..

Not for the TV but for the occasional movie, also in the Evening Saloon.

STEREO

Gotta have some sounds!
This is a fairly cheap- at least on special- FM radio and cd player with an IPOD dock for our trusty 4gb Ipod. The sounds are not bad, the smaller places on a boat always seem to make better sounds.
It may not stay here, hence the slack wiring!
Planning on more bookshelves and a mantlepiece across this bulkhead in the Evening Saloon.

BOATSHED

While hauled out at NORSAND I paid a visit to Mason Bay's old shed.
You may remember I sold it to my shipwright and a mate, also a shipwright.
Now this is what I call a boatshed. Full of interesting stuff. Work on refurbishing the 18 ft punt is nearly done, while all hands will be on deck to start work on the Auckland Harbour workboat, that I think is nearly 100 yrs old!
Then it is the Spencer keeler.....

ANTIFOULING

Back in NORSAND boatyard to scrape and antifoul ready for our cruise.
There were plenty of oysters where we had sat in the mud for the first 4 months-remember?.....

CARGO BOOM

Cargo boom now rigged and waiting to load dinghy or any heavy cargo. Can run the fall to the warping drum on the hydraulic anchor winch. (after taking the chain off the gypsy)
Tried for ages to get a second-hand CRANSE IRON but in the end got a friend to weld 4 chain links onto a length of pipe. Will get it galvanised next year.
